Produced
FDNY ENGINE COMPANY 92 1986 MACK CF PUMPER The 1986 Mack model CF 1000 gpm pumper (with FDNY registration number MP8611) was assigned to Engine 92 on 3/16/1987 and replaced a 1980 American LaFrance. This was one of twelve identical 1986 Mack pumpers. An unusual situation on this particular piece was that it was originally marked for Engine Company 238 however it never actually served in that company. It remained in service as Engine 92 until 8/6/1998 - when replaced by a 1998 Seagrave - which in turn was replaced by their current pumper a 2008 Seagrave Marauder II. Engine Company 92 was organized on 3/20/1913, in their current firehouse at 1259-1261 Morris Avenue. They share these quarters with Ladder Company 44 (a towerladder) and the Chiefs of the 17th Battalion. This is a two door firehouse located in the very busy Morrisania section of the South Bronx. Most of the buildings in their first alarm area are large apartment houses - old tenements and many retail stores. For many years they have been among the busiest engines in the FDNY - in both runs and workers. Members of Engine 92 have received numerous medals for valor and many unit citations.
