Is comprised of 158 fire stations and 162 engine companies. It serves nearly 3.9 million residents, over 1.5 million house units, 57 district cities, 2,296 square miles, and 72 miles of beach area. The LACoFD is divided into three Regional Emergency Operations Bureaus: North, Central, and East consisting of more than 3,700 sworn and civilian personnel. Their mission is: "To protect lives, the environment and property by providing prompt, skillful, and cost-effective fire protection and life safety services." LACoFD Ward LaFrance Engine 16 serves the South Central area of Los Angeles. This area covers the cities of Watts and Inglewood, among others.
