Ertl Texaco 1919 Gmc Tanker Truck Bank Collectors Series #17
Ertl Collectibles replica 1919 GMC Tanker Truck is representative of those used by Texaco jobbers and distributors to deliver quality, dependable Texaco products in the early 1900's. After dutifully providing 16,000 trucks and 2000 light ambulances for American military use in World War I, GMC unveiled its new post-war truck line in 1919. It centered on the "K" range, which included the one-ton K-16. The K-16 was powered by a 3.6 liter engine and utilized a three-speed unit gearbox, bevel drive and pneumatic tires. Considered a light truck by GMC, the K-16 proved to be an ideal delivery vehicle for Texaco, who used it to deliver the company's high-quality petroleum products during the late teens and 1920s.
This 1/28th scale die cast metal 1919 Texaco GMC Tanker Truck is modeled after an actual vehicle that was part of Texaco's expansive fleet. This is the Special Edition Chrome Millennium Edition. It has vintage logos. Additional highlights include spoke-wheels, a chrome-tone plated grille and chains connecting the load to the cab.
