ENGINE 71
Engine 71 is a 2003 American LaFrance Eagle with a Cummins diesel 500 Horse
Power ISM engine. Engine 71 Carries 1000 feet of 4 supply line, 1000 feet of 3
hose, 150 feet of 1 3/4" attack line off the rear, 200 ft of 2 1/2" connected to
a blitz fire nozzle, It has a pre-connected Deck Gun and 2 pre-connected cross
lays of 1 3/4" at 200 feet each, Auto line at 75 feet of 1 3/4" pre-connected.
Engine 71 also carries a 35 foot extension ladder and a 14 foot roof ladder, a
thermal imaging camera, forcible entry tools and medical supplies for basic and
advance life support. Engine 71 is staffed with a 4 man Crew 24/7 with a FADO
(Fire Apparatus Driver Operator) and Officer (LT or Capt), a Fire Specialist
(Firefighter) and a Firefighter. Engine 71 is Housed with Engine 7, Medic 7,
Medic 107 (Both Advance Life Support Ambulances) and Brush Unit 7.
Station 7 was located at 516 Eastern Ave from 1921 to 1970 then moved to a new
station located at 800 Myrth Ave which opened July 31st 1970 and is in Eastern
Baltimore County Essex MD. Station 7 Runs 2,700 to 3,000 Engine calls a year
between Engine 7 and Engine 71 and 3,500 to 4,000 calls a year between Medic 7
and Medic 107. Brush unit 7 runs Between 60 to 100 calls a year.
